Allergan Breast Implant Cancer Lawsuit
Results-Focused Trial Lawyers in Mississippi
When someone undergoes surgery, they expect the instruments, materials, and medical devices used in that surgery to be sterile, safely designed, and properly built. If a medical device is in any way defective, it could lead to extremely harmful, even deadly, reactions. Allergan breast implants were recently recalled for this precise reason—several recipients of the dangerous device reportedly contracted anaplastic large cell lymphoma, a type of cancer.
If you or someone you love developed cancer after receiving an Allergan textured breast implant, you may be eligible to seek legal action and compensation from the liable party. These implants can be extremely dangerous and may cause serious health issues. At 'MAGGIO LAW, we’re prepared to help you take action.

What Makes Allergan Implants Dangerous?
Allergan implants first gained popularity because their new textured design
helped them stay in place more than other designs. However, as beneficial
as this design was for aesthetics, it soon became clear that it posed
a serious health risk for the user.
The FDA received several complaints from women who had received Allergan
textured breast implants and claimed it caused them to develop certain
cancers. Namely, anaplastic large cell lymphoma, or BIA-ALCL.
Allergan Implants & Cancer
BIA-ALCL is a very rare cancer that often develops in the scar tissue near the implant, but, as with any cancer, it can spread throughout the body. Although it starts in the breast, it is not technically a form of breast cancer, but a strain of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
By September of 2018, the FDA had received 457 reports of BIA-ALCL associated with Allergan implants, though that number has undoubtedly climbed since. In a press release, the FDA said, “patients with breast implants have an increased risk of developing this disease within the scar capsule adjacent to the implant.”
As a result, the FDA recalled textured Allergan implants in the U.S. leading several women to take legal action against the company responsible for their health problems.
The following Allergan breast implants have been recalled or may be considered dangerous:
